ICC Cricket T20 World Cup 2024 USA & West Indies: Everything You need to Know

Everything you need to know about the ninth ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which the United States and the West Indies will co-host.

Structure:

Twenty different sides will compete in the ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies from June 1–29. This is a record number of teams for the competition.


For the event's initial group stage, the 20 teams are divided into four groups of five, with each team playing a minimum of four matches against the other teams in their group.

The bottom three teams from each group are eliminated, and the top two teams from each group advance to the Super 8s round of the competition.

During the Super 8s phase, the remaining eight teams are divided into two further groups, and each side plays three matches against the other team in their group to determine the semi-finalists.

The top two teams from each Super 8s group will compete in the semi-finals, with the winners moving on to the one-off final on June 29 in Barbados.

Venues:

Over the course of the tournament, a total of three American and six Caribbean venues will be used. The 16 matches scheduled for June will take place in Lauderhill, Dallas, and New York, with the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan taking place on June 9 at the brand-new Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island.

There will be forty-one games spread throughout six Caribbean nations, with semi-finals held in Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana, and a title match set for June 29 in Barbados.
